Nestled on
Puget Sound, gateway to
the Olympic Mountains, Edmonds, according to a
sur vey conducted by King TV
nine years in a row, is Western
Washington's choice for the "Friendliest City"
award. Celebrated
for its public art, the beautiful "Edmonds in Bloom" competition gardens
featured in Sunset Magazine and downtown old-time streetlights festooned with hanging
flower baskets, Edmonds is most reminiscent of small-town America. "A coming
home feeling to a place you've never been."
discover
the
amenities of a city
on an inviting,
comfortable scale
Quaint main streets spoke from a central fountain, European style. Promenading the
circle, stroll past cafes with summertime outdoor tables, art galleries, gift shops,
antique shops and bookstores. Spend the day in this very walkable community, where people still
greet in passing. Festivals entertain all summer, Sunday concerts in the Park. Enjoy
the farmers market, our own symphony, ballet companies, two performance theatres,
art center, historical society and museum. You can walk the beach, bird watch, take
a ferry ride or simply ponder the sunset. Later, choose a B&B, waterfront, or
an easy freeway access hotel.
