Register to run in the 2017 Beat Brackett 5K or the Baby Brackett 1K

The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that registration is open for the “Beat Brackett 5K” and the family friendly "Baby Brackett 1K".

Beat Brackett 5K
The race is electronically timed using RFID chips on each runner to provide accurate and quick results.  Runners who opt in will receive a performance (tech) running shirt to wear in the race.  Nothing compliments a running shirt like a ‘fake’ beard, George Brackett inspired ‘fake’ beards will be available for runner’s to don during the race.

In addition to trying to win your age and gender bracket, runners will attempt to “Beat Brackett”.  One special runner in the 5K is designated as George Brackett and your goal is to beat him to the finish line, Beat Brackett this year for a chance to ‘be’ Brackett in next year’s race. Last year only 48 runners were able to "Beat Brackett".

Attracting over 600 participants, the “Beat Brackett 5K” is the perfect kick-off to a full day of 4th of July festivities taking place in the heart of historic downtown Edmonds.  For those with a competitive streak, an awards ceremony with metals will be held immediately following the race.

The “Beat Brackett 5K” will take place on July 4 and starts in Edmonds City Park at 3rd Ave. S & Pine St.  Registration opens at 8:30 am and the race starts at 10 am.  All participants are asked to arrive before 9:30 am to pick up their race bib and materials.  There is a $30 registration fee, which includes a race shirt or $25 without a shirt.  Day of event registration is available for $30 but shirts are not guaranteed.  Sign up today and start training.

Baby Brackett 1K
New this year..... the Baby Brackett 1K is perfect for families with small children who can't go the full 5K distance.  The 1K race starts after all the 5K runners take off from the starting line.  The 1K leaves the park and follows the race route to the finish line.  What better way is there to enjoy the 4th of July, get exercise and run/walk along the parade route to the finish line?

The “Baby Brackett 1K” will take place on July 4 and starts in Edmonds City Park at 3rd Ave. S & Pine St.  Registration opens at 8:30 am and the race starts at 10:15 am.  All participants are asked to arrive before 9:30 am to pick up their race bibs.  There is a $15 registration fee (per family of 4), which includes a race bib for each person.  This race is not electronically timed and race shirts are not included.  Day of event registration is available for $20.  Sign up today and start training.
