THANKS TO THE CONTINUED SUPPORT OF OUR PRESENTING SPONSOR:
Kick off your summer with Edmonds’ longest running celebration. For 110 years the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce has sponsored the annual all-day party to celebrate America’s birthday.
Bring your family, friends and neighbors to downtown Edmonds for this traditional good old fashioned community 4th of July. Come early for the always fun 5K run/walk, then stay for a lively fun-packed day and evening with two patriotic parades, fantastic food, music, dancing and fireworks!
Beat Brackett 5K
Get your “An Edmonds kind of 4th” off and running with the “Beat Brackett 5K” family-friendly run/walk! Join other runners, walkers, kids of all ages and parents with strollers and chase ol’ man George Brackett, the founder of Edmonds, through the downtown streets to the finish line. For even more fun, decorate one of the ol’ man Brackett beards that will be distributed, and wear it during the race!
THE “BEAT BRACKETT 5K” FEATURES:
Nothing says 4th of July like a patriotic community parade! Sit back and enjoy two parades for the price of one at the “An Edmonds kind of 4th” celebration, or show your community spirit and bring your family, business or organization out to march in one of the parades.
New this year is a parade theme, which is “Edmonds – small town, big heart,” and participants are encouraged to incorporate the theme into their decorations.
Register for the Children’s Parade in the IGA parking lot - 5th Ave S. and Howell St. - from 10:15 a.m.-11:10 a.m. Parade begins at 11:30 a.m. The Children’s Parade welcomes local kids and families in their best red, white and blue holiday costumes, along with decorated bikes, scooters, strollers and wagons! Awards for “Best Bike/Scooter,” “Best Wagon/ Stroller,” “Most Patriotic,” and “Most Original.”
*Please no pets, motorized or battery operated vehicles or propaganda in the staging area of parade route.
At 12:00 PM, enjoy the Main Parade’s fun and colorful mix of marchers, patriotic costumes, music, floats and classic cars from local businesses, bands, dance groups, civic organizations, police, fire and military groups, and even some Star Wars characters! There are six different awards categories from Most Patriotic to Best Decorated. To march in the parade, simply fill out a registration form, along with $25 per group and $25 per vehicle, and be ready to march at noon on July 4th! Ooh and aah as the skies over Edmonds come alive with the flash, colors and bang of a dazzling fireworks display set to traditional music. The firework show will begin at 10:00 p.m. with a local singer performing the National Anthem. You can be the singer of the National Anthem this year, enter the contest here.
