EDMONDS, WA:An Edmonds Kind of 4th” is rapidly approaching! With an over 100 year tradition, “An Edmonds Kind of 4th” is a cornerstone of the community, engaging families and businesses. Annually, the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce presents the daylong celebration of the 4th of July with festivities running from 10 am to 10 pm and features a 5K Fun Run/Walk, Children’s Parade, Main Parade and Evening Mini-Concert & Fireworks that entertains, dazzles and wow’s over 25,000 spectators.

Everyone knows the 4th of July isn’t the same without a parade but Edmonds has not one but 2 parades, the Main Parade and the Children’s Parade! If the 4th of July 5k Fun Run/Walk doesn’t get your blood moving for a day of fun, then 2,500 children marching and performing at a fevered pitch in the annual Children’s Parade sponsored by Windermere Real Estate of Edmonds will do so. The Children’s Parade steps off at 11:30 am in Downtown Edmonds. Spectacle in itself, the Children’s Parade features local youth hoisting banners, dressed in costumes, pulling wagons and playing music under bright sunny northwest skies. All entrants will receive ribbons recognizing their participation in the big event. A lucky few will be awarded prizes for:

  • Best Bike or Scooter
  • Best Wagon or Stroller
  • Most Original
  • Most Patriotic

Let the show begin! At Noon, the Main Parade, sponsored by Lynnwood Honda steps off in Downtown Edmonds. American flags adorn the streets as nearly 10,000 spectators line the streets for a 2 hour march through the heart of Edmonds. Annually, awards are bestowed on parade participants. This year’s awards include the following:

  • Most Patriotic
  • Most Original
  • Funniest
  • Mayor’s Award for Overall Excellence
  • Best Decorated
  • Chamber of Commerce Award
  • Grand Marshal
  • Community Service Award for the Citizen(s) of the Year
